Mammoth Activities include Golf, Fishing, Mountain Biking and hiking
The Eastern Sierra and Inyo National Forest help Mammoth
Lakes fill with activities and things to do. Playing golf in Mammoth Sierra Star Golf Course and
fishing are some of the most popular things to do. Information on
everything including mountain bikes, backpacking are
available from our friends at City Concierge. Many sports and recreational
activities listed are good all year round like going to Hot Creek
for a soak,
but it is always a good idea to check with a local official or Ranger
to make sure the attraction is open.
Summer days are filled with warm days around 75-85 degrees and cooler nights. If you're a mountain biker, than you will want to check out the Mammoth Mountain
Bike park. The ski resort turns itself into this treacherous but fun mountain of free wheeling exhilarating fun. Fast becoming a world class bike park,Mammoth Mountain host several bike contests throughout the summer. If you are looking to get off your bum and go for a nice Mammoth Hike you will find trails of all kinds, lengths and difficulty levels. Mammoth has a great trail system and the trails are clearly sign posted. Coupled with a map from the Forest Service office and you are set to go out on an adventure.
We don't have to stay much about Golfing in Mammoth, except with 27 holes of first class golf, you'll want to get more than one tee time. Likewise, everyone knows that Mammoth fishing is the best anywhere in the state. Mammoth Fly Fishing is fantastic and with our long season, you can start in April and go till November, and then just outside of Mammoth, keep on going. While it is always fun to know when we stock the lakes (so you don't get skunked!) fishing in the streams au natural is a true art form, and anyone of our local tackle stores can tell you where the fish are running.
Of course there are a ton more of things to do, but whether you just sit by one of the lakes, or fish into the sunset, Mammoth is the place.
